Agreeing to these terms

These terms cover your use of the B&K Compton Spray Foam Insulation website and any estimate, scheduling or work you arrange with us through it. By using the site, calling us or booking a job, you agree to these terms.

If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. Any written estimate, contract or invoice we give you for a specific job also applies, and where it differs from this page, the written document for your job controls.

What services we provide

We're an insulation contractor in Compton, CA, and we work in Compton and the cities around it. Our work includes attic, wall and crawl space insulation, spray foam, blown-in insulation, air sealing, vapor barriers and removal of old insulation. The services we offer are listed on our home page, and you can read more about who we are on our about page.

What we actually do at your house is set out in the estimate or contract for your job. The information on this website is general and doesn't replace an in-person look at your attic, walls or crawl space.

How estimates and pricing work

We give free in-person estimates with no pressure and no obligation to hire us. The price of an insulation job depends on things like the size of the space, how much insulation is already up there and its condition, the material you choose, and how much air sealing the house needs.

Some conditions only show up once the job is open, like old insulation that's been soaked or is full of droppings and has to come out first. If we find something like that, we stop and talk with you before doing added work, and no extra charge applies unless you approve it.

An estimate is good for the period written on it. After that, prices may change because of material costs or changes at the house, so we may need to look again before we start.

Scheduling, access and cancellations

We set a work date with you once you accept the estimate. Please give our crew clear access to the attic hatch, crawl space or walls we're working on, and keep kids and pets out of the work area so the crew can work safely.

With spray foam, you'll need to stay out of the house for a set re-entry time, which is how long you wait before coming back inside. We'll tell you that time before the job, and you agree to follow it for your family's safety.

If you need to cancel or move your date, let us know as early as you can by calling (562) 232-8636 or through our contact page. If we've already ordered material or turned away other work for your date, your written agreement says what, if anything, is owed. Weather, material delays or safety problems at the house can push our schedule, and we'll tell you as soon as we know.

Paying for the work

Payment is due as stated on your estimate, contract or invoice, including any amount due before work starts. The payment methods we accept are listed there too.

If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's settled. You're responsible for reasonable costs of collecting an unpaid balance where California law allows it.

Our guarantee and warranty limits

Our work is backed by our satisfaction guarantee. If something about the job we did isn't right, call us and we'll come back, look at it and make it right where the problem comes from our work.

Insulation, foam and vapor barrier products carry the warranties their makers give, and we'll pass along that information. Apart from our guarantee and those maker warranties, and to the extent the law allows, we don't make other warranties, express or implied. This website and its content are provided as is.

Limits on our liability

We're licensed and fully insured, and we take responsibility for our own work. We aren't responsible for problems that were already at your house before we started, like roof leaks, rot, pests or wiring issues, or for damage hidden in places we weren't hired to open.

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or follow-on losses, and our total liability for any job is limited to what you paid us for that job. Nothing here limits rights you have that California law doesn't let a business limit.

Settling a disagreement

If you're unhappy with anything, call us first, because most problems get fixed fastest by talking them through. We'll work in good faith to resolve it with you.

If we can't settle it between us, either of us can take the matter to the courts in Los Angeles County, California, including small claims court where it fits.

Which law applies

These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job already covered by a signed estimate or contract unless we both agree in writing.

If you have a question about these terms, reach us through our contact page or call (562) 232-8636.
